TRACtoGo is the car and bus rental app from TRAC, part of Astra. People use it to rent a car by the day, month, or year, book airport transfers, and charter buses in more than 24 cities across Indonesia. It has more than 500,000 downloads on Google Play.
The challenge
TRAC serves families and companies in the same app. Someone rents a car for a weekend trip, then books another one for a client visit on Monday. The app had to carry both in one place without mixing personal and company bookings.
What I did
- Built the B2B2C features on my own: business accounts that live next to personal ones, with one switch between them.
- Shipped every feature to both iOS and Android from a single React Native and TypeScript codebase.
- Set the engineering practices for the project: TypeScript end to end, Redux state with clear boundaries, and a structure that stayed clean as features grew. This was before AI-assisted coding, so the speed had to come from the structure itself.
Result
- Development time dropped by about 50% once those practices were in place.
- Personal and business rentals live in one app, used today by TRAC customers on iOS and Android.
